Film and Media Technician New Entrant Scheme
The Film and Media Technician New Entrant Scheme (09/10), the first placement of its kind in the film and TV archive sector, was delivered by FOCAL International and Film London, funded by Skillset, and accredited by the Hertfordshire Skillset Media Academy. The scheme provided people starting out in the industry with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to establish a successful career in the film and TV archive industry.
Ten successful trainees undertook a paid, structured programme of industry, technical and workplace knowledge and skills training over a 12 month period. This scheme also delivered 20 weeks of individual work-based training with two archive employers, alongside classroom teaching sessions in a residential setting.
Film and Media Technician New Entrant Scheme 2009/10 is currently closed for applications.
If you would like to find out more about other training or funding opportunities sign up for the Film London email newsletter.

Film London is currently working with FOCAL International to present a series of filmed interviews with leading experts in the archive and preservation fields which will be online later in 2011.
This scheme is supported by the Skillset Film Skills Fund and the UK Film Council Digital Film Archive Fund.
