Assistant Location Manager Training

Six Month Training Course

Launched in 2006, the Assistant Location Manager Training (ALMT) is a six month, part-vocational training programme developed by Film London, with support from Skillset.

The scheme offers a blended learning programme - with a mixture of classroom, practical, mentor and online supported training - taking place over six weekends between January and July. The course covers a range of skills and knowledge relevant to that of a location manager, from planning and managing locations to photography, map-reading, health and safety, employment and law.

Mentored by a working location manager, students are required to work through homework, culminating in a set assignment of planning a shoot at a National Trust property. Since 2006, 30 trainees have completed the scheme and 16 more are due to complete the course by July 2010.

The deadline has now passed for applications to our six month Assistant Location Manager Training for 2009/10 and the course is now closed for any further queries. If you would like to find out more about other training or funding opportunities please sign up for the Film London email newsletter.
