Paid intern opportunity - Media Assistant at Heathrow during London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Role:

The Media Assistants will support the Communications team and:

• Manage the media room where media are filing stories:
• Register media and issue passes
• Provide factual information and statistics to journalists
• Answer logistical questions from media
• Manage the media zone in the terminal arrivals halls
• Liaise with Heathrow staff to answer media questions for stories
• Hunt out stories and pictures for social media
• Assist with communication activity within head office where needed.
  
  

Training and support will be provided. This role will be extremely busy at times but candidates should also expect quieter periods too. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high profile dedicated Communications team and get involved in the spirit of the Games.

Experience:  You'll have experience of location management and a good general knowledge of how the media works. You will be confident, reliable and hardworking, well presented and able to communicate professionally and possess great organisational and customer service skills. Ability in languages would be a real plus. And of course, you'll relish the chance to be part of this exciting experience when the eyes of the world are turned to the largest airport in the UK.

Dates: 27 June - 12 September

Location: Heathrow Airport
